Started in May 1996, funds from the K-State License Plate program help provide scholarships for qualified students along with programming for recognition of academic achievement and excellence.

By purchasing a K-State License Plate, alumni and friends in Kansas show their purple pride and invest in the university's future. The tax-deductible royalties paid on nearly 2,600 plates are generating more than $100,000 annually for these awards. To date, more than $1 million has been raised from the K-State License Plate program. Kansas residents who own passenger vehicles, light trucks or vehicles with a gross weight of 12,000, 16,000 and 20,000 pounds may purchase a plate at any time.
