St. Jude

K-State's "Up Til Dawn" executive board hopes there will be contributions to their organization. "Up 'Til Dawn" is the largest philanthropy and organization for K-State that raises money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. St. Jude has never turned a child or family away for the inability to pay. Flights, lodging and medical care are all covered during their time there. Support for St. Jude Children's Hospital has become a priority to K-State's "Up 'Til Dawn" and they hope others will feel the same.

This year, K-State students wrote more than 17,000 letters for "Up 'Til Dawn," asking friends and family to donate to the cause. "Up 'Til Dawn" invites everyone to continue with the fundraising efforts. It is now possible to donate to St. Jude's online by visiting www.stjude.org/utd/donate. Once arriving at the site, choose "K-State" from the drop-down option and donate in accordance with the university. "Up 'Til Dawn" has been ranked top five in the nation since their first year, and they hope to increase their efforts from there.

K-State has raised more than $120,000 each year and strive to increase donations by reaching an even larger population. St. Jude has taken the survival rate for childhood cancer from 20 percent to 70 percent by having the largest amount of scientists and doctors under one roof for the entire United States. Although the costs are high, it is not only conducting research for their own facility, but makes all cancer research findings available to the world. St. Jude works hard to make the transition easier and healthier for those families who would love to be home when they are sick, but don't have the option. The hospital spends $1 million a day to make all of these accommodations possible, operating purely from donations. "Up 'Til Dawn" encourages donations in any amount for this cause and hopes to continue to receive contributions for years to come.
