Distinguished Young Alumni to speak at second annual convocation

K-State's New Student Convocation ceremony on Aug. 24 in Bramlage Coliseum will begin the new academic year and feature the Kansas State University Faculty Brass Quintet, President Kirk Schulz and Provost April Mason and a short video on K-State’s land-grant history.

In addition, the 2014 Distinguished Young Alumni Award recipients Molly Hamm and Matt Wolters will share their college and early career experiences. The DYA program is sponsored by the K-State Alumni Association and Student Alumni Board.

Other speakers include Greg Eiselein, director of K-State First; Katie Noll, Le’Andre Carthen and Anallely Dominguez, students; and Ali Malekzadeh, Edgerley family dean of the College of Business Administration. 

A picnic and pep rally at Bill Snyder Family Stadium will begin after convocation. All students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend both events.
