K-State Day at the Kansas State Fair set for Sept. 7

Purple pride will be on full display at the 2014 Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson on K-State Day, Sept. 7. The university will be recognized as the fair's official sponsor on the event's first Sunday. 

Special outdoor exhibits will be set up near Lake Talbott from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. to share college and department information with visitors. Learn how K-State is shaping the world and improving food sustainability through the Global Food Systems initiative, and help celebrate extraordinary Wildcats through the Wildcat Way campaign. 

Performances on the lake’s stage will showcase university musical and dance groups from noon to 6:30 p.m. Pep rallies at noon and 6 p.m. will feature members of the K-State Marching Band, Willie the Wildcat and cheerleaders. Merchandise will be available for purchase. 

"Kansas State University has a proud tradition of partnership with the state fair and we look forward to continued collaboration this year," said K-State President Kirk Schulz. "This will be a fun day providing alumni, students, prospective students and all other visitors additional opportunities to show their pride and connect with K-State."

12:45 p.m.: K-State Tap Ensemble
1:30 p.m.: R&R Jazz Combo
2:15 p.m.: Wabash City Brass Quintet
3 p.m.: K-State Band
3:30 p.m.: K-State Tap Ensemble
4:15 p.m.: R&R Jazz Combo
5 p.m.: Wabash City Brass Quintet
6 p.m.: Pep Rally with K-State Band
