The K-State Alumni Association hosted the inaugural Wabash CannonBall Houston on Jan. 23 at The Houstonian Hotel, Club and Spa in Houston, Texas.

Nearly 200 K-Staters and friends attended the black-tie gala, which raised scholarship funds for Houston-area students to attend K-State. Scholarships will be awarded this month for the 2015-16 school year.

It was a celebratory evening complete with dinner, remarks from K-State President Kirk Schulz and dancing to the music of the 5th Avenue Band.

Houston-area volunteers Matt Dill, Ben Tryon, Jen Bolton Tryon, Bryn Poland Vera, Susan Eastin Sullivan, Wayne Sullivan and Ashleigh Rogers as well as Michelle Elkins, associate director of awards and special events for the Alumni Association, organized the event.
