All tickets and select
concession items are only $1 when the K-State women’s basketball team hosts new
Big 12 member West Virginia at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, for the annual “Pack
the House” game. The Wildcats are the two-time Big 12 champion in the NCAA “Pack
the House” initiative.
As part of the NCAA’s “Pack the House” initiative,
K-State is offering all tickets for just $1, which includes all available
seating in the chairbacks, reserved bench and general admission seating areas of
Bramlage Coliseum. To purchase tickets, contact the K-State Athletic Ticket
Office at 800-221-CATS or visit http://www.kstatesports.com/
addition, designated concession items will be sold for just $1, including
nachos, pretzels, popcorn and select candy, which will be available at all main
concession stands on the Bramlage concourse.
At halftime of the game,
fans will be entertained by Quick Change. During a nonstop, dynamic exhibition
for the entire family, Quick Change puzzles an audience with their flashing
costume transformations, which happen in fractions of a second. Their magical
transformations have been seen on “America’s Got Talent” and “The Oprah Winfrey
Show.” For more information on Quick Change, visit www.wolfpack-entertainment.com/quick-change.html
K-State will be looking for a three-peat to its pair of Big 12 titles in the
NCAA “Pack the House” initiative, as the Wildcats captured the 2011 and 2012
crowns. K-State hosted 9,024 fans Jan. 9, 2011, against Oklahoma State, a 63-45
win over the Cowgirls in the Big 12 home opener for the Wildcats. On Feb. 4,
2012, K-State hosted No. 1 Baylor in front of a sold-out crowd of 12,528 fans.
This was the highest attended women’s basketball game in Bramlage
Coliseum since March 31, 2006, when K-State hosted the WNIT Final in front of a
sell-out crowd of 13,340. The 2012 sell-out was the ninth-largest crowd to view
a women’s basketball game since Bramlage Coliseum opened in 1988 and the 15th
largest crowd to witness a home game in the program’s 45-year history.
Under head coach Deb
, the Wildcats own a record of 40-10 (.800) when the attendance
inside Bramlage Coliseum is 7,500 or more.
The NCAA “Pack the House”
initiative is in its sixth year of existence and was created to assist in
growing the game of women’s basketball. NCAA member schools can select any game
from the start of competition on Nov. 1, 2012, until the close of regular season
action on March 5, 2013.
Participating schools compete against one
another within their own conference and against all Division I schools for a
chance to be awarded the 2013 NCAA Women’s Basketball Pack the House Challenge
Champion. This will be the third year that all of the Big 12 Conference members
will participate in the initiative.
