This fall, the Chimes Junior Honorary Society will sponsor the K-State Family of the Year competition, which recognizes a family that has shown a commitment to the Kansas State University family and community. The Family of the Year is selected by a committee within the society.

The winning family will be recognized on the field during halftime at the K-State vs. University of Texas at El Paso football game, which will take place Sept. 27, K-State Family Day. The family also will be guests of the society and the K-State Student Union at an brunch in the Student Union Ballroom, where they will be awarded an engraved plaque to commemorate their dedication to the university.

The Chimes Junior Honorary Society promotes scholarship, leadership and service in students. Members are chosen during the spring of their sophomore year for their demonstration of each of the three foundations of the society. The members must have at least a 3.0 grade point average and contributions to service and leadership throughout their K-State career.
