Kansas State University men’s basketball head coach Bruce Weber has announced his 2016 summer camp schedule for area youth on the university's Manhattan campus.

The 2013 Big 12 Coach of the Year, along with his coaching staff, will direct these summer camps, which include a variety of ages. All camps will be at Bramlage Coliseum, the Ice Family Basketball Center and the newly-renovated Chester Peters Recreation Center on the K-State campus. These camps are open to any and all entrants, limited only by number, age and grade level. The camper’s grade level is the one heading into the 2016-17 school year.

The Junior Wildcat Day Camp runs from 9 a.m. to noon June 6-9 and is available to children in kindergarten through second grade at a cost of $105 per camper. The Wildcat Day Camp runs from 1-5 p.m. June 6-9 and is open to youth in third through sixth grades at a cost of $120 per camper.

The two Father/Son Camps offer fathers and sons a great opportunity to spend a special weekend together on either June 10-11 or June 11-12. The camp is open to children in kindergarten through sixth grade. Emphasis will be on teaching fundamentals to the fathers, who in turn teach them to their sons. Space is limited. The cost is $225 per pair and $100 for each additional child.

The Powercat Day Camp — from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 13-15 and from 9 a.m. to noon June 16 — is available to youth in fourth through ninth grades at a cost of $200 per camper. The primary emphasis of the camps will be on the basic fundamentals of dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding and defense, while preparing campers for middle school and high school basketball.

The two-day Team Camp runs from June 25-26 and is open to any and all high school teams of varsity, junior varsity or freshmen levels with a minimum of seven players per team. Meals and T-shirts will be provided to the campers and coaches, while teams are guaranteed a minimum of five games plus a single elimination playoff. There will be a chalk talk session for coaches with Weber and his staff on June 24 followed by a coaches’ social. The cost is $115 per person for overnight campers and $90 for commuters.
