Guests enjoyed dining and dancing at the 2014 Wabash CannonBall while raising funds to provide scholarships for future K-State students in the Kansas City area.

Nearly 600 guests gathered at the Sheraton Overland Park in Overland Park, Kan., on Feb. 28 to celebrate K-State at the eighth annual Wabash CannonBall hosted by the K-State Alumni Association.

Each year, the black-tie gala raises money to provide scholarships for future K-State students in the Kansas City area.

To date, including proceeds from this year's gala, nearly $2 million has been endowed for scholarships for Kansas City-area students. As a result, scholarships have been awarded to 35 new, future K-Staters for the 2014-15 academic year.

The Wabash CannonBall has been sold out every year since it began eight years ago. To support the growing popularity and accommodate more guests, the Wabash CannonBall committee is pleased to announced the 2015 event will take place in the Overland Park Convention Center on Feb. 27.

The summer 2014 edition of the K-Stater magazine, a quarterly benefit for all K-State Alumni Association members, will feature even more on the Wabash CannonBall. To receive a copy of the summer 2014 K-Stater, join the Alumni Association by May 15.
