In an effort to prepare students for graduation and becoming alumni, the K-State Alumni Association and Varney's have created a one-stop shop for graduation needs. Graduating students are invited to Grad Expo from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 8 at the K-State Alumni Center. The event will have more than 10 participating vendors, prize giveaways, food, music and more.

Students will have the opportunity to order their caps and gowns, graduation announcements, diploma frames and official K-State class rings. The Alumni Association and partners such as Liberty Mutual and Collegiate Insurance Resources will be available to discuss their alumni services.

Students also will have the opportunity to have professional photos taken at no charge. Professional photos are important to college graduates for purposes such as a LinkedIn profile, where a professional online resume can be a valuable tool when searching for jobs.

Alumni are urged to encourage December graduates to attend the event, which will help them prepare for graduation and life as alumni.

The K-State Salina campus will host a Grad Expo for graduates from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. October 1  in the Tech Center lobby. For more information on this new event, contact Julee Cobb at 785-826-2642.
