Ten out-of-state K-State students receive Wabash CannonBall Scholarships

The K-State Alumni Association has awarded 10 scholarships to incoming Kansas State University out-of-state freshmen through the Wabash CannonBall galas, alumni golf tournaments and barbeques.

“These K-State students have benefited so much from the generosity and support of their fellow Wildcats in out-of-state locations,” said Michelle Elkins, associate director of awards and special events for the Alumni Association. “It is truly amazing to see how much these events have done for the K-State community as a whole. We would like to thank everyone who has helped champion these events over the past few years to make it a success.”

Wabash CannonBall Colorado

Two Colorado students receiving scholarships in the amount of $5,000 for the upcoming academic year were selected from a wide pool of applicants. To be eligible for the scholarship, students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 and reside in Colorado. This is the first year the scholarships will be renewed for four years. 

The incoming freshmen who received scholarships listed by hometown and high school are Kristen Anders, Castle Rock, Colorado, Douglas County High School; and Hanna Hartzell, Centennial, Colorado, Heritage High School.

Wabash CannonBall Houston

Four Houston-area students will receive scholarships in the amount of $5,000 for the upcoming academic year. To be eligible for the scholarship, students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 and reside in the Houston area (Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery and Waller counties).

The incoming freshmen who received scholarships listed by hometown and high school are Ava Fuentes, Spring, Texas, Woodlands Christian Academy; Darcy Thompson, Cypress, Texas, Cypress Ranch High School; Cole Wisenbaker, Houston, Texas, Cypress Christian High School; and Christopher MacAllister, Houston, Texas, Summer Creek High School.

Wabash CannonBall North Texas

Four North Texas-area students will receive scholarships in the amount of $5,000 for the upcoming academic year. To be eligible for the scholarship, students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 and reside in the North Texas area.

The incoming freshmen who received scholarships listed by hometown and high school are Lailah Bias, Fort Worth, Texas, Central High School; Ava Coull, Wylie, Texas, Wylie High School; Graysen Denning, Grapevine, Texas, Grapevine High School; and Kristin Gerety, Keller, Texas, Keller High School.
