K-State Alumni Club awards scholarships to students in the Wichita area

Fifty-one area students have been awarded scholarships to Kansas State University totaling $26,800. The scholarships were awarded on March 21 by the Wichita Area K-State Alumni Club, K-State Alumni Association, Compton Family Endowment, McCandless Family Endowment, Vanguard Endowment, Trumble Family Scholarship, the Schawe Family and the Frey/Wells Family Scholarship.

Forty-three students received alumni club scholarships. The recipients are: Hailey Milner, Andover, Kansas; Michael Johnson and Thomas Johnson, Augusta, Kansas; Samuel Ralston, Bel Aire, Kansas; Leah Durr and Elliot Helten, Cheney, Kansas; Mia Martin, Clearwater, Kansas; Maddox Brock and Alivia Turner, Derby, Kansas; Kaydence Voyles, El Dorado, Kansas; Josh Helten, Garden Plain, Kansas; Holly Houser, Chase Koeppen, Julia McLeod and Morgan Voth, Goddard, Kansas; Anthony Gutierrez, Haysville, Kansas; Abbie Bryan, Hutchinson, Kansas; Madi Horton, Newton, Kansas; AJ Reed, Rose Hill, Kansas; Andrew Arensman, Isaac Buckingham, Taegen Charles, Nate Curran, Katie Durham, Kenzie Foster, Eli Fulghum, Dominic Garcia, Michael Houseman, Jaden Hutton, Emily Leithoff, Piper McCann, Lexi Meiring, Kait Mock, Nathan O'Brien, Mallory Pabst, James Richburg, Haylie Sanders, Riley Schuster, Kitana Snell, Zoe Spicer, Sophia Vaughn, Shelby Willems and T.K. Williams, Wichita, Kansas.

Additionally, Camryn DeVore, Cheney, and Lucas Isham, Wichita, received the McCandless Family Endowed Scholarships; Lindsey Cottingham, Wichita, received the Compton Family Endowed Scholarship; Emily Sprowls, Wichita, received the Trumble Family/Baird Private Wealth Management Scholarship; Gabby Nicholson, Haysville, received the Ed Frey and BJ Wells Family Scholarship; Alexis Seif and Jasmine Seif, Wichita, received the Schawe Family Scholarships; and Sarah Maschino, Valley Center, Kansas, received the Vanguard Endowment Scholarship.

“We are so pleased to congratulate these outstanding students,” said Amy Button Renz, president and CEO of the K-State Alumni Association. “The Alumni Association board of directors is committed to helping prospective students attend K-State. We greatly appreciate local alumni and friends who have helped make these awards possible through their loyal support.”

The scholarships are for the 2023-24 academic year. The Alumni Association annually awards approximately $550,000 in student scholarships with funding provided by local K-State alumni and friends and Alumni Association programming.
