There’s no better treat on a hot summer day than a cold, delicious scoop of Call Hall ice cream.

As you push open the door and feel a refreshing blast of air conditioning, you’re greeted by a colorful line-up of the day’s ice cream flavors: strawberry, butter pecan, chocolate chip mint or even the iconic blueberry-flavored “Purple Pride.”

Visiting Call Hall is a favorite memory for many K-Staters, and we’re celebrating that sweet sense of nostalgia this summer with our special Join in June promotion!

If you become a member of the K-State Alumni Association by June 30, we'll send you a vintage K-State ice cream scoop — perfect for dishing out your favorite flavors of ice cream this summer. Plus, if you join the Alumni Association as a fully paid life member, you will also be entered into a drawing for Call Hall gift cards!

Of course, Call Hall isn’t the only thing our members love about K-State. During our membership appreciation month in May, we asked our current members to share some of their favorite things about K-State. Reading all your stories was a treat — here are a few that made us smile:

As an international student, I have so many cherished moments at K-State! My first time going to a K-State football game, participating in a trivia challenge, Open House events are all my favorites. My Ph.D. graduation day is my most favorite moment, with my professor hooding me — I still watch the graduation video often and share it with my family. It always puts a smile on my face!

One of my favorite K-State memories is when our team from the K-State Ad Club won a competition where we built out an advertising campaign for Macintosh computers. I still have a copy of our presentation from 1992. I loved my advertising and marketing classes at K-State, they inspired me to stay in the industry for almost 30 years now and I'm a partner/owner of an advertising agency.

The programs offered at K-State were amazing! I attended my first opera on campus and I really enjoyed it! Wherever I've lived, if there is one to see, I have to attend it. I was also thrilled with the lecture series the year actor Richard Thomas was there. He was so personable sitting on the edge of the stage just "having a chat" at the end. I even got to ask a question and felt it was just he and I since I was in the front row. We all got to say "Goodnight, John-boy!" I was small when the show was on TV and grew up watching it. Richard Thomas was like a big brother to me.

It's the personal connections I'll always remember of my time at K-State and they continue today through my affiliation with the Alumni Association. Always proud to be a Wildcat!

Being chosen to be a KSU orientation leader provided an opportunity to assist incoming students and parents. Plus, we had an incredible team of leaders who made lifelong friendships. We are fourth-generation KSU alumni! Over 20 members of our family graduated from KSU. Plus, many family members met and married KSU graduates. The fourth-generation kids are attending football, basketball and baseball games.

During the Student Ambassador Reunion in October 2017, I could bring one person on the field with me during Homecoming half-time when the new Student Ambassadors were announced. I was able to take my grandpa, the original Wildcat fan in my life, down on the field with me. It was his first time on the field in all the years of being a Wildcat fan and attending Kansas State Football games. The look on his face and excitement you could feel in his voice when he and I were talking on the sideline was full of pride and wonder. I was incredibly privileged to have served as a Student Ambassador, and for all of the incredible memories from that year of service, it is this memory of my grandpa after I was done that will be the one that will forever stand out as the most special for me.

The day of my successful Ph.D. dissertation defense is a cherished memory I will look back on with pride and satisfaction for the rest of my life. The resources and facilities available at K-State have allowed me to explore and expand my horizons beyond what I thought was possible.
