Alumni Association adds business manager to staff
Matt Schwartz CPA, who has extensive experience in financial and accounting management, has joined the K-State Alumni Association staff as its business manager. He replaces Brad Sidener, senior vice president and COO, who will retire at the end of January.
In this role Schwartz is responsible for preparing and managing the annual operating budget for the Alumni Association; preparing, reviewing and analyzing financial statements; serves as staff liaison to the Association board of directors’ finance and audit committee providing oversight on key financial functions and coordinates the day-to-day human resource operations of the Association to meet business objectives, among other duties. Additionally, Schwartz will sit on the Association’s leadership team.
Schwartz has two degrees in accounting from K-State: a bachelor’s degree in 2004 and a master’s degree in 2005. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of Kansas. Prior to joining the Association staff, he served as the finance director at the Kansas Lottery. He has also worked for Varney and Associates and Berberich Traham and Co. in various financial capacities.
