Alumni Association, Catbackers award scholarships to students in Dodge City area
Six area students have been awarded scholarships to Kansas State University totaling $6,250. The scholarships were awarded by the Dodge City Catbackers, the Sughrue family, the Col. Gayle Foster Endowed Scholarship Fund and the K-State Alumni Association.
The recipients are Martin Lozano and Ethan Nguyen, Dodge City, Kansas; Noe Berrios, Bucklin, Kansas; and Lenzi Kohen and Damien Loewen, Montezuma, Kansas.
Additionally, Zoe Rojas, Dodge City, received the Sughrue Leadership Scholarship for $2,500.
“We are so pleased to congratulate these outstanding students,” said Alan Fankhauser, associate director of alumni programs for the K-State Alumni Association. “The Alumni Association board of directors is committed to helping prospective students attend K-State. We greatly appreciate local alumni and friends who have helped make these awards possible through their loyal support.”
There are more than 880 K-State alumni and friends in the Dodge City area.
The scholarships are for the 2025-26 academic year. The Alumni Association annually awards more than $650,000 in student scholarships with funding provided by local K-State alumni and friends and Alumni Association programming.
