K-Staters in Ireland

In August, 11,000 K-State fans made the journey to Dublin, Ireland, to watch the Wildcat football team take the field at Aviva Stadium for a once-in-a-lifetime game day experience.

While the ’Cats did not take home the trophy from the Aer Lingus College Football Classic, K-Staters returned with special memories they will never forget.

Here are some of our favorite photos from the trip to Ireland, including K-Staters visiting sites around Dublin, to the pub crawl, and more.

  • Rick Bloom ’91 made stops in Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland.
  • Mechanical engineering alumnus Cade Harms ’21 reports, “What an experience to stand in the room where the engineers designed and drafted the blueprints for the Titanic!”
  • Lori Potts ’92 shared this photo from what she calls a “trip of a lifetime…four K-State alumni friends traveling Ireland and enjoying the game.”

We loved connecting with our K-State Alumni Association members who traveled to watch the game, and passing out swag such as our member-exclusive souvenir silicone pint glass. (Photo by ConPhotography)

K-Staters were invited to gather at local pubs to share a pint and some K-State camaraderie before the game. Additionally, approximately 5,000 Wildcats attended an official K-State pep rally at Merrion Square Park in Dublin, featuring the K-State Marching Band, Classy Cats, K-State cheer team and Willie the Wildcat.
