K-State Alumni Club awards scholarships to students in the Wichita area

Seventy-four Wichita area students have been awarded scholarships to Kansas State University totaling $42,000. The scholarships were awarded by the Wichita Area K-State Alumni Club, K-State Alumni Association, Compton Family Endowment, McCandless Family Endowment, Vanguard Endowment, the Ed Frey and BJ Wells Family, the Schawe Family and the the Col. Gayle Foster Endowed Scholarship Fund.

Sixty-six students received alumni club scholarships: 

Trey Hommertzheim and Briley Simon, Andale, Kansas; Carter Cyphers, Katelyn Kice and Brenna Sommers, Andover, Kansas; Blayke Locke, Ragan Pfeifer and Rylee Pfeifer, Augusta, Kansas; Isabel Einwich and Natalie Head, Bel Aire, Kansas; Piper Morgan, Bentley, Kansas; Brecken Bergkamp, Cooper Frieden, Kennedy Frieden and Laird Murray, Cheney, Kansas; Rica Bluml and Landon Schill, Clearwater, Kansas; Joseph Beck, Conway Springs, Kansas; Kyndall Dodds, El Dorado, Kansas; Logan Means and Aurora Wollard, Goddard, Kansas; Maxx Linton and Tess Williams, Halstead, Kansas; Caitlin Williams, Haysville, Kansas; Allysa Chance, Kechi, Kansas; Sophia Ballard, Leon, Kansas; Makayla Klingenberg, Peabody, Kansas; Rylan Jantzen and Addie Rockley, Rose Hill, Kansas; Suttyn Douglas, Salina, Kansas; Ryan Jahnke, Sedgwick, Kansas; Jenna Moore and Leah Moore, Towanda, Kansas; Kennedy Crain, Dylan Hoverson, Nic Maschino and Taryn Smith, Valley Center, Kansas; and Madison Abold, Brenna Almond, Ellie Amershek, Presley Bender, Chantz Blasi, Ben Bloyd, Ava Boleski, Samuel Dolloff, Brendan Eilert, Lily Gabbert, Landon Hale, Jake Hamm, Caydon Herrick, Ally Hicks, Hannah Howell, Paige Jacobs, Gavin Kline, Rylee Lawrie, Jackie Martyn, Quentin Mauler, Emma McCormick, Sadie Mullen, Madi Pfannenstiel, Ian Poole, Landen Poole, Olivia Pruitt, Maddison Ross, Bianca Sanchez and Mason Smith, Wichita, Kansas 

Additionally, Sophie McMillan, Bel Aire, received a Compton Family Endowed Scholarship. Kinsley Plumer, Valley Center, and Lily Plank, Goddard, received McCandless Family Endowed Scholarships. Kinsey Smith, Andover, and James Pugh, Wichita, received a Vanguard Endowment Scholarship. Itzel Torres-Hernandez, Newton, Kansas, received the Ed Frey and BJ Wells Family Scholarship. Kamden Thornton, Andover, and Megan Malpass, Wichita, received Schawe Family Scholarships. 

“We are so pleased to congratulate these outstanding students,” said Josh Diazdeleon, associate director of alumni programs for the K-State Alumni Association. “The Alumni Association board of directors is committed to helping prospective students attend K-State. We greatly appreciate local alumni and friends who have helped make these awards possible through their loyal support.”

There are more than 16,168 K-State alumni and friends in the Wichita area. 

The scholarships are for the 2026-27 academic year. The Alumni Association annually awards more than $650,000 in student scholarships with funding provided by local K-State alumni and friends and Alumni Association programming.
