Amrutha Mallela ’25 will turn complex data into actionable insights that guide engagement strategies, event planning and membership growth for the K-State Alumni Association.

Mallela joined the Association staff in February as its first ever data analyst.

In this role Mallela will apply data science techniques, such as data mining and statistics, to support strategic goals such as fundraising, membership and event attendance; analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends and inform decisions; and create clear visualizations and presentations to communicate insights.

“The Alumni Association’s database is a critical resource for the university and its mission to be a next-generation land-grant university,” said Terin Walters ’05, vice president of marketing and communications. “Having a data analyst on staff who can leverage the database’s information ensures that we are advancing the Association’s mission to reach, connect and serve the K-State community.”

Additionally, she will orchestrate email campaign deployment via Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including scheduling for the Alumni Association and university clients; and respond to internal and external data inquiries through complex database queries, ensuring timely, accurate and actionable information delivery.

Mallela earned a bachelor's degree in computer science engineering from Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Engineering and Technology and a master’s degree in data analytics and business administration from Kansas State University. She previously has worked for Accenture and SAP.

“I am thrilled to stay in Manhattan while getting to do what gets me excited, data analysis,” Mallela said.
