  • 2 lbs. hamburger
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 medium head cabbage, shredded
  • Onion powder
  • Garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Any basic dinner roll dough recipe  or Rhodes Texas dinner roll dough

Make your roll recipe or let the Rhodes rolls thaw. Put the hamburger in a cast iron skillet to brown. When the hamburger is still pink, add the onion and cook a few minutes. Then add the cabbage, onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper; cover and cook until the cabbage is cooked down. Let the hamburger mixture cool.

Roll out a roll into a 5x5” square. Put the filling in the middle of the roll and bring the edges together and seal. Put on a baking sheet and let rise. Bake until golden brown for about 20 minutes at 375° F.
