Omlet ingredients

Submitted by Cindy Martens '79, Overland Park, Kansas

  • Eggs (approximately two per person)
  • Omelet extras:
    • Green onions
    • Bacon
    • Sausage
    • Cheese
    • Jalapenos
    • Mushrooms, etc.
  • Salsa
  • Guacamole
  • Tortillas
  • Quart size zip baggies (NOT the kind with the white slider zipper tab)
  • Permanent marker

Begin by boiling a large pot of water. Have each person write their name on a baggie with permanent marker. Crack two eggs into the baggie. Add omelet ingredients as desired. Zip the baggie shut and gently squeeze to mix the ingredients.

Drop the baggie in the pot of boiling water and allow it to gently boil until the eggs are cooked (approximately 13 minutes).

Carefully remove the baggie from the water with tongs. Open the baggie and put the cooked egg mixture inside a tortilla. Garnish with salsa and guacamole as desired.
