Distinguished Young Alumni

The recipients of the K-State Alumni Association Student Alumni Board's 2023 Distinguished Young Alumni Award — John Grice, Madison, Wisconsin, and Kelsie Ball Salazar, Lenexa, Kansas — will each give a keynote presentation to campus on March 7.

Grice is the annual giving manager for the Barack Obama Foundation. He earned a degree in political science in 2012. Salazar is a registered nurse clinical care coordinator/clinical nurse educator for internal medicine at The University of Kansas Health System. She earned a degree from K-State in 2011 in family studies and human services.

The entire K-State community is invited to attend the presentations.

Keynote presentations will be held in the Wildcat Chambers at the K-State Student Union. Grice will give his presentation first at 3:30 p.m., followed by a short reception, and then Salazar will present at 4:30 p.m.

The award, which was established in 2012, recognizes two Kansas State University graduates who are using the leadership and service experience they acquired at K-State to excel in their professions and contribute to their communities.
