Ask a K-Stater

Not sure if your resume is ready to submit?
Looking for help opening a door at your dream company?
Is graduate school the right step for you?

Ask a K-Stater is a new web-based tool that makes it simple for members of the K-State community to connect for career advice, job search support, internship guidance, networking and more. Current students, alumni and friends, prospective students and parents are invited to ask questions and receive responses from K-Staters who have relevant experience.

You can submit a question right now through Ask a K-Stater — no need to login, create an account or download an app! Your question will then be matched with a K-Stater whose background aligns with the topic.

“Ask a K-Stater is a revolutionary way for anyone to connect with alumni with real world experience and expertise to support future or current students, and alumni or friends,” said Adam Walker ’04, ’09, K-State Alumni Association president and CEO. “Utilizing innovative software, this platform allows anyone to network, connect or provide mentorship to a fellow K-Stater. A previous gap is now a strength in providing a next-generation alumni association for our membership and all Wildcats!”

You can dive in and start asking questions today through Ask a K-Stater, or you can keep scrolling to learn more about the online tool through our FAQ below!

Ask a question

💬 I asked a question — what happens next?
Once you’ve submitted your question through Ask a K-Stater, it is shared with other K-Staters based on their experience/profession. Then, just keep an eye on your email for a notification that your question has been answered!

💬 Can I keep the conversation going?

After your question has been answered, you may have an opportunity to continue the connection. If both parties are comfortable, you can extend the conversation through LinkedIn or email.

💬What happens if I receive a question from someone else?
As a K-Stater, you may occasionally receive questions via email from current students or fellow Wildcats looking to learn from your expertise. There’s no set commitment; you can choose to respond whenever it works for you. Whether it’s sharing career insights, offering advice, or simply answering a quick question, your perspective can make a meaningful impact.
