Homecoming Committee donates to Be Able
The K-State Student Homecoming Committee has donated $5,500 to Be Able. The funds were raised from proceeds collected at the 2025 K-State Homecoming Philanthropy 5K Run/Walk.
The committee identifies a beneficiary for the Homecoming Philanthropy 5K Run/Walk each year. The 2025 proceeds raised were given to Be Able.
Be Able is a Manhattan nonprofit which exists to engage with those in adversity by creating connections, cultivating skills and opening doors of opportunity.
“We appreciate Scott Voos, director of Be Able, for being a great partner during our 5K run/walk this past fall,” said Tamie Redding, 2025 Homecoming chair.
A check for the proceeds was presented by Adam Walker, Alumni Association president and CEO, to Marlon Jackson, Be Able program director, and Chad Wormstadt, Be Able housing director, at the K-State men’s basketball game on Feb. 1.
K-State has celebrated Homecoming for more than 100 years. The 2026 Homecoming Celebration will be the week of Oct. 11-17, 2026, kicking off the week with the 5K Run/Walk. Stay tuned for more details on the upcoming celebration, www.k-state.com/Homecoming.
