K-State Alumni Club awards scholarships to students in the Wichita area

Sixty-one Wichita area students have been awarded scholarships to Kansas State University totaling $49,750. The scholarships were awarded on April 8 by the Wichita Area K-State Alumni Club, K-State Alumni Association, Compton Family Endowment, McCandless Family Endowment, Vanguard Endowment, the Ed Frey and BJ Wells Family, the Schawe Family and the Trumble Family/Baird Private Wealth Management.

Fifty-three students received alumni club scholarships. The recipients are: Bryce Morrison, Emma Neuschafer, Alexis Sanford, Dakota Wilson, Andover; Logan Pfeifer, Augusta; Hayden Rusk Renollet, Bel Aire; Meghan Buckert, Benton; Emma Baldwin, Gracie Beenken, Ansley Garton, Lauren Miller, Derby; Monica McCosh, Jaxon Sprading, Douglass; Adria Nelson, Garden Plain; Kyle Hamor, Samantha Parks, Maddox Shurtz, Ashley Waggoner, Goddard; Dani Seamster, Haysville; Megan Frisk, Maize; Avery Looney, Park City; Macee Lehr, Sedgwick; Abby Anderson, Reese Bieker, Isabella Chavez, Ryan Hoverson, Vanessa Sanders, Natalie Webb, Valley Center; Avary Alberg, Viola; Brett Anderson, Carley Bell, Parker Bender, Braedyn Blasi, Alyssa Evans, Nate Hamm, Aidan Hanshaw, Nathan Harkman, Judd Harms, Taylor Jones, Andrew Klassen, Brelee Long, Landon Marcotte, Lauren Menges, Camden Nguyen, Shaden Nunez-Morales, Nathaniel O'Brien, Rebecca Richardson, Jasmine Rieger, Nicholas Rogers, Sophie Swenson, Caiden Unruh, Ethan Vincent and Sydney Waymire, Wichita.

Additionally, Bethany Horst, Andover, received a Compton Family Endowed Scholarship. Joselyn Avila and Ellen Magana, Wichita, received McCandless Family Endowed Scholarships. Isaiah Blackwell, Augusta, received a Vanguard Endowment Scholarship. Avery Hicks, Wichita, received an Ed Frey and BJ Wells Family Scholarship. Alexis Gromala and Makayla Kintzel, Wichita, received Schawe Family Scholarships. Nora Reed, Wichita, received a Trumble Family/Baird Private Wealth Management Scholarship.

“We are so pleased to congratulate these outstanding students,” said Alan Fankhauser, associate director of alumni programs for the K-State Alumni Association. “The Alumni Association board of directors is committed to helping prospective students attend K-State. We greatly appreciate local alumni and friends who have helped make these awards possible through their loyal support.”

The scholarships are for the 2024-25 academic year. The Alumni Association annually awards more than $650,000 in student scholarships with funding provided by local K-State alumni and friends and Alumni Association programming.
