Kansas State University supporters gathered for an elegant evening of socializing, food and dancing at the 2015 Wabash CannonBall Colorado, raising money for student scholarships.

Approximately 300 people attended the K-State Alumni Association event Aug. 14 at the Pinnacle Club in the Grand Hyatt Denver. Michelle Elkins '87, associate director of awards and special events for the Alumni Association, said the event raised funds for scholarships that will help Colorado students attend K-State.

“K-Staters getting together to celebrate is always a wonderful time,” Elkins said. “Our purple passion was on full display.”

The event began with a sunset cocktail party overlooking the mountains and downtown Denver. Dinner was followed by the Fund a Wildcat program, which awards fun prizes to donors such as dinner for eight with K-State President Kirk Schulz and tickets to the University Suite in the West Stadium Center for the K-State vs. Iowa State football game this fall.

Willie the Wildcat even made an appearance at the gala, mingling with the guests. The evening wrapped up with dancing to the tunes of The Nacho Men.

“The dance floor was full until midnight,” Elkins said.
