K-State announces plans for AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl pep rally

Kansas State University fans have responded with enthusiasm to plans for K-State’s activities associated with the AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl in Houston, on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016. The K-State Alumni Association, K-State Athletics, the KSU Foundation and the President’s Office have announced the location and start time for the ever-popular pep rally that is open to the public.

The K-State pep rally will take place Tuesday, Dec. 27, at BBVA Compass Stadium – home of the Houston Dynamo MLS team, 2200 Texas Ave., in Houston. Gates to the stadium will open for the pep rally at 1 p.m. The K-State football team, coaches, K-State Marching Band, cheerleaders, university dignitaries and Willie the Wildcat will participate in the pep rally. All Wildcat fans are welcome to attend this free event.

Transportation to and from the pep rally is included in the Alumni Association's travel packages. For those traveling separately, the stadium is located downtown near Minute Maid Park and the Toyota Center and is within walking distance of several public parking garages and lots. In addition, K-Staters will enjoy the Alumni Association’s Pregame Party on Dec. 28. The Pregame Party will take place at the NRG Center, One NRG Park, in Houston from 5-7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased by calling 800-600-2586 or online at www.k-state.com/bowl. Space is limited. The deadline to RSVP is noon, Wednesday, Dec. 21. The Pregame Party is included in the K-State Alumni Association’s travel packages.
