Students receive scholarships at K-State event in Garden City

Twenty-five area students were awarded scholarships to Kansas State University totaling $11,600 at the Finney County Catbacker event on May 21 in Garden City, Kansas. There are more than 2,900 K-State alumni and friends in the Finney County area.

The recipients are Cody Frink and Jaeden Werth, Cimarron, Kansas; Alex Acosta, Danielle Bachman, Kyra Bellows, Adan Cernas, Mariah Delarosa, Jackson Dirks, Erykah Foster, Madison Knoll, Kirstin Neff, Tram Pham, Caitlyn Rude, Jose Sanchez, Yami Sanchez, Darby Schneider, Jarrod Springston, Megan Strecker and Taylor Sullivan, Garden City; Steven Crain, Holcomb, Kansas; Brett Gleason, Offerle, Kansas; Bryce Herrmann, Kinsley, Kansas; Kris Wagner, Satanta, Kansas; Maleah Walker, Ulysses, Kansas; and Tobias Mendenhall, Pampa, Texas.

The scholarships were awarded by the Finney County Alumni Club and the K-State Alumni Association.

"The Alumni Association board of directors is committed to helping prospective students attend K-State, and the alumni club scholarship program is a vital component in assisting those efforts. We greatly appreciate local alumni and friends who have helped make these awards possible through their loyal support."

The scholarships are for the 2019-20 academic year. The Alumni Association annually awards approximately $550,000 in student scholarships with funding provided by local K-State alumni and friends and Alumni Association programming.
