Are you and your mom celebrating this weekend, and need a few ideas of how to maximize your time together? Check out these five ideas our team at the K-State Alumni Association came up with for you and mom to have an amazing time this weekend in Manhattan, Kansas.

Union Station JP's

1. Grab a bite at Union Station by JP's

The Union Station by JP’s, located inside the K-State Student Union, is open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and would be the perfect spot for a Mother’s Day brunch or dinner.

K-State Gardens

2. Stroll through K-State Gardens for Iris Day

The Iris Day event is happening from 1 to 4 p.m. and the K-State Gardens are open all day for a Mother’s Day stroll.

3. Hike the Konza Prairie trails

Feel like stretching your legs but not your budget? The Konza Prairie trails are open for hiking from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. everyday.

4. K-State baseball series vs. WVU

Cheer on the ‘Cats as they play a series against West Virginia this weekend. They play at 6 p.m. Friday, May 12, 4 p.m. Saturday, May 11, and 11 a.m.  Sunday, May 12.

5. Strike up fun at the Wabash Cannon Bowl

Located in the K-State Student Union, the Wabash Cannon Bowl is a great way to have it all - food, drinks, bowling, an arcade, pool and more! They're open Friday until 11 p.m., Saturday noon to 11 p.m., and Sunday noon to 9 p.m.

(Bonus #6! You knew we couldn't do just five, right?!)
Flint Hills Fest

6. Have a blast at the Flint Hills Festival

If you read this far, AND you are planning ahead, you can get in on all the fun on Saturday, May 11, at the Flint Hills Festival. Enjoy live entertainment, food trucks, beer and wine tasting, children's activities, local carft vendors and more.
