K-State welcomes Chris Klieman as the next head coach of Wildcat football

Chris Klieman has been named the 35th head coach of the Kansas State University football program, K-State President Richard Myers and Athletics Director Gene Taylor announced Monday evening.

Klieman, 51, was previously the head coach at North Dakota State University since 2014. He has an impressive track record in the Football Championship Subdivision, where his teams have won three national titles in the last five years. His overall record as head coach with the Bison is 67-6.

Klieman joined the Bison coaching staff in 2011, and succeeded Craig Bohl in 2014. He had previously served as head coach at Loras during the 2005 season. Additionally, he has spent time as an assistant coach at Northern Iowa, Western Illinois, Kansas, Missouri State, and Loras.

K-State alumni and friends will have the opportunity to meet with Klieman this summer during the Catbacker Tour and at select Alumni Club events. More details will be available soon.
