Purple Pack Catbackers to host K-State Friends & Alumni events

The Purple Pack Catbackers are hosting events in Arkansas City and Winfield for Kansas State University alumni and friends in May and June.

On Wednesday, May 23, K-Staters will gather from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Wilson Park Rotunda, 701 N. Summit St., in Arkansas City for Family Fun K-State Day. The event will include a lunch with family-friendly activities including games and inflatables. Children in attendance also will receive a clear drawstring bag full of K-State goodies.

Additionally, scholarship drawings will benefit high school seniors and community college transfer students attending K-State in fall 2018. The Alumni Association annually awards approximately $550,000 in student scholarships with funding provided by local K-State alumni and friends and Alumni Association programming.

Cost to attend the event is $5 per adult, children 18 and younger attend for free.

On Saturday, June 2, the Catbackers will host the Bill Taylor Memorial Golf Scramble  at Quail Ridge Golf Course, 3805 Quail Ridge Drive, in Winfield. Check-in will begin at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start at 10 a.m.

Cost to participate in the scramble is $100 per golfer. This includes green fees, cart, range balls, event gift, lunch, beverages and flighted prizes.
